Description
GHK-Cu (also known as Copper Tripeptide-1, Prezatide copper, or Copper peptide GHK-Cu) is a naturally occurring tripeptide complexed with copper(II) ion. The tripeptide is glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK), which binds copper to form the active GHK-Cu complex. It is widely researched for its roles in skin regeneration, wound healing, anti-aging, collagen/elastin stimulation, and antioxidant effects in cosmetic, dermatological, and preclinical studies.
GHK-Cu is a copper-chelated tripeptide composed of glycine, histidine, and lysine arranged in a compact sequence that forms a stable coordination complex with copper ions. Its well-defined structure is frequently examined in peptide research for studies involving metallopeptide binding behavior, structural stability, and chromatographic characterization. GHK-Cu is commonly used as a reference material for evaluating peptide–metal interactions, purity profiling, and sequence-dependent physicochemical properties.
Notes:
- The blue color of GHK-Cu solutions/products comes from the copper coordination.
